School and workshop on quantum technologies and density-functional theory - School and workshop postponed

Workshop | Monday, October 19, 2020 - Friday, October 30, 2020
Klaus Capelle (Federal University of ABC )
Irene D'Amico (University of York)
Vivian V. França (UNESP)
Rafael Chaves (IIP-UFRN)

This two-week event explores the interfaces and synergies between Quantum Technologies & Quantum Information on the one hand, and modern many-body and electronic--structure theory, as exemplified by density-functional theory, on the other. A one week school, aimed at researchers from one of the fields desiring to learn more about the other  as well as postdocs and students, will be followed by a one-week workshop bringing together experts in both fields and providing ample opportunities for interdisciplinary interaction.
TOPICS INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
  • Quantum communication
  • Quantum computation
  • Quantum sensing and metrology
  • Quantum simulation
  • Devices and materials for quantum technologies
  • Experimental techniques for quantum technologies
  • Computational methods for quantum technologies
  • Time-dependent and stationary density-functional methods
  • Many-body and electronic-structure theory for quantum technologies
